Guest Post: Wedding Party

Hi Cupcakes & Couture readers! My name is Stephanie and I’m from Wedding Party. I’m excited to be doing a blog swap with Amy today -- you can read her post on engagement rings over on our blog today! Anyway, I’m going to be sharing a few ideas on one of those stressful-yet-fun tasks every girl will experience when asked to be a bridesmaid: planning the bachelorette party!

As weddings get bigger and more extravagant, we at Wedding Party have noticed that other wedding-related celebrations like engagement and bachelor/bachelorette parties are doing the same! The bachelorette party especially has changed from being a one-night event to a weekend event, with brides and their best friends taking a few days to party in an amazing destination. And no, I’m not just talking about Las Vegas -- bridesmaids are getting way more creative and planning bashes in more interesting place than the strip! Here are a few of my favorite ideas for a destination bachelorette party; maybe you can find the perfect place for the next one you have to plan!

For a beachy bachelorette party: Mexico

If you’ve got money to blow and know the bride would love to spend her Bachelorette in the sun and sand with margaritas, you really can’t go wrong with a trip to Mexico. However, different towns offer different experiences, so consider the bride’s ideal vacation past booze and beaches. Will she want to party every night till the sun rises? An all-inclusive resort in Cancun might be the ticket. If the bride would rather wander through cute, culture-filled towns by day and spend the evenings wining and dining by the sea, towns like Tulum or Puerta Vallarta may be just the right speed.

For the budget beach bachelorette party: Miami

If tickets to Mexico are out of everyone’s price point, your next best bet for a bachelorette beach experience is Miami. Whether you’re staying at a swank 5-star hotel or are going for a cuter more budget-friendly boutique hotel, you’re sure to have a winning weekend. The beach, world class restaurants and amazing nightlife are all close by!

For a boozy bachelorette party: New Orleans

We can tell you one thing about having a bachelorette party in New Orleans: it’ll be a night you’ll never forget. Or never remember, depending on your plans! If there’s a town in the US that does partying right, New Orleans is it. However besides top-notch bars, this town boasts a ton of culture, music and delicious food, so drinking is definitely not the only thing you’ll have to do during the bachelorette party weekend. Try and catch a live music performance at a restaurant or bar, and make sure to take advantage of local cuisine!

For a glam bachelorette party: New York

What’s more glam than spending a weekend partying in New York? While it could get pricey, a bachelorette in the Big Apple is definitely an awesome option for anyone out there looking for a bash in the big city. Sightsee and shop by day, visit Michelin-rated restaurants for dinner, and visit glam rooftop bars by night.

For a luxe wine-and-dine bachelorette party: Napa

If you’re looking for a slower-paced but amazingly fun bachelorette party, try a wine tasting weekend in Napa. Check in to a cozy B&B or a gorgeous wine country resort, and be sure to rent a party bus. Pick your favorite wineries, hop on the bus, and prepare for a weekend of delicious wine and fantastic food. A bonus: San Francisco is only 45 minutes away, so take a day trip to the city to get the best of both worlds!

For an outdoor chic bachelorette party: Jackson Hole, Wyoming

If your bride friend is the outdoorsy type and really doesn’t want to spend her bachelorette hopping from bar to bar, jet off to Jackson Hole for some fun outdoor activities. In the winter, pack your skis or snowboards and hit the slopes! In the summer, pack your swimsuit and hiking shoes to play outside all day. In the evening, stay at a luxe lodge and sip grown-up drinks by the fire. Doesn’t that sound nice?

Hopefully this gives you some great ideas for unique and fun places to get away on a bachelorette party! Or maybe even your next vacation? I’d love to hear what you lovely readers have done for bachelorette parties in the past!

  1. Great ideas! My best friend is getting married and we're off to Vegas in April for her Bachelorette party. Tickets were cazy expensive since it's around spring break and I wish we would have thought about other alternatives (Miami and Mexico sounds like great options).

Heading over to follow your blog now :)

This includes round Ceylon sapphires, a green sapphire, an oval orange sapphire, two pink sapphires, a round purple sapphire, a green tsavorite, and two yellow sapphires. This is a lovely and colorful ring that is ideal for adding a splash of color to a boring old outfit. Scottsdale diamonds
