Blogger Event: Camille Albane

Last Wednesday night I was lucky enough to attend a great blogger event thrown by Jen aka The Boston Bachelorette at the Camille Albane Paris salon on Newbury St! The salon originated in Paris and is brand new to Boston, so it was my first time visiting and I was definitely impressed. Fifteen Boston bloggers were treated to a hair treatment, a blow out and a makeup application - it was so nice to be pampered!

We could choose between a color enhancing treatment or a shine treatment - I went with the shine because my hair has a few colors in it due to my most recent balayage. The stylist told me it would also help prevent my blonde pieces from turning brassy, which is always needed!

Then I got a fabulous blowout by Kara. I asked for lots of volume, and she definitely delivered! I have fine hair that can fall flat, so I was really impressed with how my hair turned out. I got so many compliments on it! I will definitely be back to visit Kara for a blowout in the future.

Then it was time for a makeup application done by the very talented Jen. I told her that I'm not very experimental with my eye makeup {I've been wearing the same signature black cateye for over 10 years...seriously!} so she promised she wouldn't go too crazy on me. She added some deep navy eyeliner to my black cateye which made it super unique and great for a night out. I also loved the bronzey-rose blush she used on me!

On my way out, I was given a swag bag which I opened the minute I got home. {Oh, did I mention the salon is less than a 5 minute walk from my apartment? That was pretty awesome.}

Inside the swag bag was a huge and seemingly waterproof makeup clutch as well as a full size after-sun shampoo and conditioner, which will be perfect for keeping my color vibrant this summer when I'm spending time outside.

If you haven't been to Camille Albane on Newbury yet, you must visit! Go for a treatment, a cut, a color, a mani or a makeup application... they offer it all! They are also masters of balayage if you're thinking of trying out my favorite type of hair color technique :)
