Shopping List: Winter Beauty

Hi there! I'm Niki, the girl behind the blog, Glossy Blonde. I was honored when Amy asked me to guest post for her during her recovery. Speaking of recovery, I'm here today to share some tips for a little winter beauty rehab!

The cold winter air can suck the moisture out of our skin, leaving it feeling dry and irritated. But with some help from a few great products, we can re-hydrate and revive the skin and make it soft and smooth again! Here are some of my favorite skin recovery products in the winter months:

winter skin savers // glossyblonde.com

1. Aquaphor Healing Skin Ointment is a great all-purpose product! It helps hydrate and provide relief from even the most dry, chapped skin, and it can be used to prevent windburn in those zero degree temps! I also use it as a lip treatment from time to time, and on minor cuts to help keep the skin around the area from becoming inflamed or irritated. It's magical.

2. L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream is hands-down (ha, get it, hands down) my all-time favorite hand cream. It absorbs instantly so there's no greasy buildup, and the hydration actually lasts through a couple of hand-washings. Plus, it smells incredible.

3. I recently discovered Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream and it became an instant favorite! It's pricey, but it hydrates and balances my dry skin so perfectly, it's worth it! It has a really nice, luxurious scent as well.

4. Kiehls Lip Balm #1 is a cult favorite for a reason! It is highly emollient and contains Vitamins A and E to help heal and protect lips from drying winter temperatures (and winds! Brrr).

5. Argan Oil is another great all-around product! I use it under my eyes, over my eye cream, to lock in hydration and protect that sensitive undereye skin. It can also be applied alone as a facial moisturizer or even over face cream (again, to lock in hydration), in the hair, and even on cuticles! There are so many uses, it's incredible! My favorite is the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil! {Amy's note: I got this in my Christmas stocking and I've been using it as a nighttime moisturizer. It's fantastic!}

6. This may be a little out of left field for some of you, but I swear by Vitamin E Oil at night. It does get greasy so it can be a bit too heavy for day, but I swear it has superpowers! I apply it all over my face and sleep with it on. Then I rub the excess into my hands and cuticles for a little extra moisturization. It is ultra hydrating and leaves the skin super smooth! The best part, it's cheap and you can find it at the drugstore. Be sure to buy look for "Pure" or "100%" Vitamin E Oil (the ingredients section should only list Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)).

7. The undereye skin can be ultra sensitive, and when it's dry, those fine lines really start to appear! Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream is the absolute best for moisturizing and smoothing under the eyes. I can't get enough of it!

A great big thank you to Amy for having here today! I'd love for you to stop by Glossy Blonde sometime and say hello!! Have a great day!
