Gift Guide: Cocoanuts Boston

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a holiday blogger event at Cocoanuts in Boston's North End! Cocoanuts is a gourmet sweet treat boutique that features tons of local artisans as well as high quality, unique products from other states in the US. {I attended their Valentine's event last year if you want to check that post out!}

Tara, one of the co-owners, started off the night by showing us how to put together some fun plates and displays for our holiday parties - I never would have thought of creating a plate with french macarons, broken up pieces of toffee and chocolate covered almonds all together, but it was so delicious and visually stunning! She also highlighted a few great gift baskets to bring to the hostesses of the parties we're attending - they are sure to make a good impression!

There are tons of gift ideas for the people in your life with a sweet tooth - homemade candy canes, winter themed chocolate bars and pretty boxes of chocolates and truffles. Buy a few small items for stocking stuffers or surprise your coworkers with unique treats they haven't tried before.

Cocoanuts features lots of pre-made gift baskets and boxes to choose from which are great for teacher and secret santa gifts. Tara can also help you create your own basket with the items you choose at a price point that works for you!

There were a few local chocolate and candy makers who came to the event to tell us about their companies and give us samples (yay!) Jason from the super popular McCrea's Candies let us sample his caramels and the rosemary truffle sea salt was my favorite flavor...I am totally obsessed and can't wait to buy more! Who would have thought I'd love a savory caramel so much?

Talking to Carrie from Pure 7 Chocolates was definitely the highlight of my night. Not only is she amazingly fashionable and a former Chanel brand manager {swoon!}, but she makes the most delicious chocolate that's sweetened with honey instead of traditional sugar! Their chocolate bars are free of gluten, dairy, soy and refined sugars and are softer than "regular" chocolate so they melt in your mouth. The salted almond was definitely my favorite flavor.

In addition to the caramels and salted almond chocolate bar, I also picked up some delicious french macarons {which are SO hard to find in Boston, so if you love them as much as I do, you have to stop by and buy some!} and an Antidote lavender & red salt bar which is the most indulgent, relaxing chocolate I've ever tasted. I could eat it every day!

If you're looking for some last minute stocking stuffers, chocolately secret santa gifts or unique hostess gifts for the holiday parties you're attending, you have to stop by Cocoanuts in Boston on Parmenter Street in the North End! Thanks to Jen {Boston Bachelorette} for planning the event and Tara for hosting us! :)
