Runway Inspiration: Sweaters & Skirts

There have been SO many amazing looks from the Spring 2014 RTW collections that I have been pinning to my catwalk board like a madwoman. I'm going to be posting a lot of runway inspiration over the next week or two, so I hope you all are okay with that! ;) One of the trends I noticed and love is the mixing of a slouchy sweater with a pretty skirt, whether it's mini, midi or maxi. Sweaters and skirts together aren't really a new thing, I know, but I love this unexpected mix of casual on the top and dressy on the bottom. I'm going to start wearing my sequin skirts with menswear inspired sweaters for the fall and spring months. How do you feel about this trend?

  1. I love this trend! It is so perfect for me, because I love to dress up but work in a very casual environment. This brings the best of both worlds to my wardrobe so I can still express my love for fashion! I love your suggestion of mixing a sequin skirt with an oversized menswear sweater! I can finally get use out of that French Connection sequin skirt I bought with you!

  2. I love that the sweater/skirt trend is in because most people have both of these things in their wardrobe already :)

  4. LOVE these! I was just putting together a Pinterest board featuring pencil skirts + slouchy sweatshirts, so definitely stealing some inspiration from these looks!

  6. I really like this idea :) I don't know if I would feel comfortable with both being kind of loose, maybe if it was a tighter sweater or a pencil skirt?

  8. I've been noticing this look a lot too! I love the look on other people but I'm a little unsure whether I'd be able to pull it off!
