What's in my makeup bag

Finding the right makeup products is so important! It takes a lot of trial and error, but when you finally find the perfect products for you, it's magical. :)  I don't wear a ton makeup am not a huge fan of color, so you might think my product choices are boring!! I like to keep my face and lips basic so I can play up my big eyes with liner and mascara.. Here are my makeup essentials that I can't live without!

Makeup Bag: Hello Kitty for Sephora "Memoirs of a Kitty" bag. (no longer available.) It's pink, girly and the perfect size for all of my products!

Face Powder: Physician's Formula Mineral Wear in Buff Beige - $12. I can't wear liquid foundation or heavy pressed powders because they make my skin break out. I like to use a loose powder that evens out my skin tone without covering all of my freckles up and making my skin look cakey. I used to use Bare Minerals, but this Physician's Formula powder (which you can find at CVS) gives you double the amount of powder for half the price and works just as well! I use a larger brush to apply it - the brush it comes with is much too small.

Concealer: L'Oreal Paris True Match in Nude Beige - $11. Okay, so this is technically not a concealer...but I use it as one! I use it to cover up small blemishes or pimples - I don't use it all over my face.  It hides redness and doesn't dry up or get flaky. Another cheap CVS find!

Fall/Winter Bronzer: Too Faced Snow Bunny - $29. This is the perfect way to give your cheeks a bit of shimmery glow without looking like you're using bronzer in the winter! I use this shade when I don't have a tan.

Spring/Summer Bronzer: Too Faced Pink Leopard - $29. When my skin is a bit tanner during the spring and summer months, I use this amazing pinky bronzer. You will fall in love with it!! It blends in perfectly and doesn't look orange or fake.

Eyeliner: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack - $15. The absolute best eyeliner in the world...trust me, I've tried them all! This liner is smooth, silky, long lasting and easy to apply with a skinny eyeliner brush.  It goes on much smoother than liquid liner and looks a lot richer than pencil liner. It makes a rich black line that's perfect for a cat eye and I never leave the house without it!! I always get compliments on my eyeliner - people are constantly asking me what I use to get my lines so perfect. Once you try this stuff, you'll never want to use anything else again!

Eyeliner Brush: Sephora Collection Pro Angled Eyeliner Brush #23 - $15. This is the perfect brush to use with the MAC Fluidline. You can make your lines as thin or as thick as you want with this brush and the hairs never fall out or get in the way.

Mascara: Dior DiorShow Mascara in Black 090 - $24.50. I can't stress enough how much I LOVE this mascara. Nothing else even comes close to making long, thick, full and dark lashes. Although I do have naturally long lashes, they are not super full or dark. I wear this mascara every day (along with my MAC Fluidline eyeliner) and I am constantly getting compliments on my eye makeup. Yes, it's expensive and you will need to buy a new tube every 2-3 months, but it's SO worth it!!!

Eyeshadow: Stila Kitten - $18. I don't usually wear eyeshadow, but when I do, it's Stila Kitten! Described as a "shimmering nude pink," it's the perfect shade for all skin tones and eye colors. You can wear it alone, under eyeliner or with other shadow colors.

Brow Gel: Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara - $6. I use this clear mascara to shape and tame my brows. A little bit each day goes a long way!

Lip Balm: Rosebud Salve - $6. I have tons of lip balms and glosses in my purse, but this is my absolute favorite and the one I buy again and again. It keeps your lips soft and moisturized and only adds a smidge of pink color. It's not sticky at all and you can use it on bare lips or over lipstick if you'd like!
