Joia's Wedding

This past weekend, my best friend from college Joia married the love of her life, Travis. :) I was so honored to be one of her bridesmaids and even more honored to bake all of the cupcakes for their special day!! I wanted to share my photo diary of the weekend, starting with my baking of the cupcakes and ending with the fun reception. I hope you enjoy them!

On Thursday night, I started to bake. The amazing staff at Neighborhood's Cafe on my street let me use their kitchen to bake in, which was unbelievably generous. Instead of baking 120 cupcakes in 6 batches with my stand mixer in my apartment, I was able to use their industrial equipment and make them all in one batch which saved me so much time and energy! I cannot thank them enough!!! Please please visit them to eat their delicious crepes and drink their fabulous coffee and teas...tell them Amy sent you!

Then it was off to western MA where I made all of the raspberry buttercream and frosted the cupcakes in the kitchen at Mount Holyoke College where the wedding would be held.

Next was the rehearsal dinner which was hosted by some of Joia and Travis' friends. They set up an amazing table in their backyard with beautiful flowers, twinkle lights and hanging lanterns. It was rustic and whimsical and fit the theme of their wedding perfectly.

Then came Saturday...the big day! It was so fun to get dressed up in my bridesmaid dress and do my hair and makeup. The ceremony was short and sweet {I cried the entire time...} and the wedding went so smoothly with absolutely perfect weather. We had a blast at the reception and Joia looked stunning.

so beautiful...and I helped pick out her headband!

I ended up wearing my hair down since it wasn't too windy.

The cupcakes came out great and I got lots of compliments on them. I would say my first time baking for a wedding was a total success!!!
